The School of Food and Biological Engineering and the University of Leeds Hold a Cooperation Program Presentation and Discuss the “3+1” Bachelor-Master Articulation Program

On October 31, Mr. Jason Neal, International Partnerships Officer from the University of Leeds, visited the School of Food and Biological Engineering and delivered a presentation on the cooperation programs between the two universities. The session was chaired by Party Secretary Wan Youling, with Vice Dean Zhou Cunshan and more than 30 faculty members and students in attendance.

During the presentation, Mr. Jason introduced an overview of the University of Leeds, highlighting its strong academic reputation and achievements in the field of Food Science and Nutrition. He provided a detailed explanation of the three cooperation models jointly established between the School of Food Science and Nutrition at the University of Leeds and the School of Food and Biological Engineering at JSU, including the “4+1” Bachelor-Master Articulation Program, the “1+1+1” Joint Training Program, and the “2+1+1” Master Joint Training Program. Mr. Jason also shared case studies to illustrate the student training models and international development opportunities offered through these collaborative programs. He emphasized that the partnership between the two universities not only provides students with access to high-quality international education resources but also creates broader opportunities for scientific research cooperation and academic exchange. During the Q&A session, teachers and students actively raised questions about admission requirements, curriculum design, scholarship opportunities, and career prospects. Mr. Jason responded to each inquiry in detail, creating a lively and engaging atmosphere.

After the presentation, Secretary Wan Youling, Deputy Director of the International Office Zou Shijian, and Mr. Jason held an in-depth discussion on the “3+1” Bachelor-Master Articulation Project. The two sides exchanged views on program structure, curriculum alignment, student training plans, and management mechanisms. The meeting further clarified the direction and implementation path of future cooperation, laying a solid foundation for deeper collaboration and mutual benefit in higher education between China and the UK.

This event further strengthened the partnership between Jiangsu University and the University of Leeds in the field of food science and engineering. It also provided new opportunities for faculty and students to broaden their international perspectives, enhance educational globalization, and open new chapters in Sino-British higher education cooperation.
